PHISTO is a bioinformatics Web platform for studying infection mechanisms through Pathogen-Host Interactions (PHIs). PHISTO enables access to the most up-to-date PHI data for all pathogen types for which experimentally verified protein interactions with hosts are available.

To tackle infectious threats, an improved understanding of molecular interactions between pathogenic microorganisms and their hosts is needed since PHIs have crucial roles in infection mechanisms. Detailed knowledge of PHIs is required to comprehend the mechanisms of infection and to identify new and more efficient strategies to prevent or cure infection. To facilitate these attempts, PHISTO aims to provide the entirety of relevant information about PHIs and bioinformatics tools to analyze PHI networks via its user-friendly interface.
